Four years ago I received a text saying that I needed to prepare a drink for my then-girlfriend Ashley McCann (who became the co-writer) and fast, because she was about to murder-death-kill everyone at her office and on the way home. The Spurs lost or some  weird anime didn’t come out on DVD or some other very vital event set her off. Ugh. Anyway. She made it a point for me to know that I was just a puppet in this equation, and all she really cared about was downing the drink as fast as she could.

The original vision was going to be much more stylized and risque, dipped in more animalistic energy, but in the end, we decided to go for a more subdued/subtle/classier progression. In my mind, both work well.
