“Out of the blackness, two white lights chase two more, tracing S’s down the distant mountain they illuminate.”
So begins Mountain Empress, a feature screenplay I cowrote with the savvy and sexy Christopher Corona. Over the last couple of years the story has kept evolving, taking surprising corners. I am quite satisfied with its current state, and I am very honored to say that it is now an official selection of the 2018 Beverly Hills Film Festival. This is the first time I’ve ever received any recognition like this, and I’m looking forward to seeing how I take to the event in April.
Here’s the logline to give a taste:
The Mountain Empress has murdered Lupo’s sister; to gain resolution, he must navigate the burgeoning enterprise of Touge—a breakneck racing gauntlet of blind switchbacks, crooked drivers, clever lawmen, and lethal consequences
